“For his Fall 2013 collection, Jason Wu sent out an utterly sophisticated that spoke directly to powerful, grown-up women. With a strict color palette of black, white, bright red, and deep violet, Wu went deep into tailoring with outstanding outerwear that included sexy, structured lace trench coats. There was more than a hint of classic YSL in the narrow black pantsuits with stiff white collared blouses that hinted at Le Smoking, while leather-edged black fur boleros nodded ever so to the chubby. The collection was as sophisticated as the crowd at the Park Avenue venue, with perfectly coiffed actress Jaime King perched front row.”

“Dominatrix chic mixed with ladylike lingerie seems to be a theme this season, and Jason Wu was right on trend.
The designer sent lace dresses mixed with leather straps and harnesses down his runway stock full of this seasons hottest models including Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, and Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton. But celebrity models aside this collection was a standout on its own and is sure to be a hit on the red carpet and in the wardrobes of A-listers like Emma Stone and Blake Lively.
Standouts from the collection included menswear inspired tuxedos that oozed power and sensuality, a lacy brocade jumpsuit, and a consecutive line of floor-length tulle gowns - the final one covered in Cinderella sparkle.”
